MOCT January 2026

Dear Friend,

we would like to give you a short overview of the last few months and our plans for the coming months.

You have met with Loveness and Tinashe in our previous newsletters and you can learn more about their work below.

The team was busy with planting out vegetables including kale, cabbage, maize and beans. They had been looking after the tree nursery growing avocado, mango, pawpaw and mulberry. They also have lemon, they are going to use for grafting into oranges and najites.

The girls were also busy maintaining the Zunde plot and from the initial 20mx50m they are planning to expand to 50mx50m this year.

The MOCT hosted a mushroom growing workshop and they are looking for ways to use it as an easy to grow, nutritious food source.

Other important educational activities included SRHR (Sexual Reproductive Health Rights) activities in the primary and secondary schools as well as raising wider awareness in the sensitization meeting at Mahowa business center.

For the next 3 months Loveness is planning to:

  • Continue assisting the young women participating in the Zunde project to harvest their fine beans and marketing them.
  • Procuring materials for the school’s activities and distributing them.
  • Scouting for more young women to be included in the sexual, reproductive, health and rights project.
  • Carrying out monitoring of activities in the six schools we are working with.
  • Preparing for the implementation of SRHR in The three selected churches.

Tinashe’s team continues to work mostly in the tree nurseries. Adding more fruit trees mainly mango, lemon and avocado, since this is the right season to pick the seeds. Other main jobs will be the multiplication of grasses (napier, vetiver and lemon grass) and the ongoing weed management.
